January 10-14, 2022 Virtual Learning Grades 5-12

Good afternoon Warren Students, Families, and Staff,

This is Dr. Tim Hanson, Superintendent of Schools for MSD Warren Township, with an important announcement for students and families in grades 5-12. This message does not impact K-4 students and staff.

Last Thursday, I shared with our 5-12 families that due to a large number of staffing needs, our intermediate middle schools and high school would be eLearning tomorrow, Monday, January 10th. Due to an increase in staffing needs since that time, 5-12 students and staff will remain virtual for the remainder of the week.

Monday and Tuesday will be eLearning days where students will access their instructional materials through Canvas and will have access to their teachers at the following times:

5-8 students : 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.

9-12 students : 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Just a reminder that student attendance and grades will be based on the completion of assignments and per our eLearning policy, students will have 5 days to submit their eLearning assignments to their teacher.

Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday will be virtual or synchronous learning days where students will need to follow a schedule. These additional details will be shared by your child's school and teacher no later than Tuesday.

Grab-and-go breakfasts and lunches will be available on Monday, Jan. 10 (6 meals/student) and Thursday, Jan. 13 (4 meals/student) from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Stonybrook, Creston, Raymond Park, Renaissance, and Warren Central High School. Students do not need to be present to pick up meals.

Because we are seeing an increase in positive COVID cases in both students and staff, I have provided a couple of resources below:

Linked here are home care instructions for those who are experiencing COVID symptoms or have tested positive for COVID within the same household.

Linked here is the Indiana Department of Health’s vaccination site that provides a list of sites and the ability to register online for vaccinations. If you do not have access to the internet or prefer to talk with someone, you can call 211

We will continue to monitor each of our schools and provide updates as needed. Please let us know if we can support you in any way and thank you for your continued investment in Warren students, staff, and schools.
