CLUBS

Clubs and school organizations are formed at Creston Intermediate and Middle School as student interest develops. Listed below are current clubs and organizations with a brief description of each one. Students should listen for intercom announcements concerning organizational meetings.

Creston's Academic Pursuit teams have a proud tradition in competition with the other middle schools in Marion County. Students compete in "Brain Game" type matches on Wednesday afternoons from November until mid-February. Five students at a time vie to answer questions against students from another school. The season concludes with a Saturday County Tournament in February. Each grade level competes separately, with its own coach and practice schedule.

The Art Club will meet periodically throughout the school year and is open to all 7th and 8th grade students with a love for art. Students must sign up to attend each session and sign-up times and locations will be given on morning announcements. All levels of talent are welcome...the only requirement is enthusiasm for expression through art!

National Junior Honor Society honors students who demonstrate excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, character and citizenship. NJHS challenges students to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service.

Speech Team strives to promote excellence in communication through spirited dedication to self and team improvement and also by being ambassadors of ethical competition and sportsmanship.
