Superintendent Update - July

Good Afternoon, Warren Students, Families, and Staff,

I would like to start by thanking our students, families, and staff for an amazing start to the 2025-2026 school year. I would like to take this time to welcome all of our new students, families, and employees. We are happy to have you in Warren!

Whether you’re new to Warren or returning, I’m proud to share that we’ve made incredible progress in student attendance. Since the 2021 school year, our attendance rate has increased for five consecutive years—rising from 76.7% to over 93.1%, a remarkable 16% improvement. This achievement reflects the collective commitment of our students, families, and staff.

But we’re not done yet! We have new goals for this school year. First, we aim for 90% of our students to be present at least 90% of the school year. Last year, we reached 86%, and we’re determined to go even further. Our second goal is for every student to miss no more than five days throughout the entire year.

Every day your child is in school is a chance for them to learn, grow, and build strong work habits. Being on time each day is just as important—it sets the tone for a positive and productive day.

We understand that some absences are unavoidable. When an absence occurs, it’s important to notify the school as soon as possible. You can report an absence in any of the following ways:

  • Call

    your child’s school directly

  • Report the absence through

    ParentVue

  • Respond to the email or text from

    ParentSquare

  • Send a

    note

or documentation (such as a doctor’s note) to the school

If your family is facing challenges that may affect your child’s attendance, please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s school or the Moorhead Community Resource Center. We are here to help. We truly appreciate everything you do to ensure your child is at school each day and on time. Your partnership makes a difference!

Whether it’s reporting absences, sharing information or feedback, or celebrating our students and staff, communication is key to our success! In Warren, we are committed to keeping you informed through a variety of communication channels.  Below are several ways we share and receive information from our students, families, and staff.

ParentSquare is our primary and preferred platform for communicating with families. Every Warren school sends a weekly digital newsletter through ParentSquare, keeping you informed about important updates, events, and celebrations.

ParentSquare

Families can receive messages via email, text, or app notifications in your preferred language, whichever works best for you. Additionally, the platform allows for two-way communication, so you can easily send messages, sign forms, RSVP to events, and stay engaged with your child’s school experience. If you do not have the ParentSquare App, please download it by scanning the QR codes below.

ParentSquareSocial media is another great way we share information and celebrate the incredible things happening across our schools. Follow MSD Warren Township and your child’s school on platforms like Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and LinkedIn to stay connected, informed, and inspired by the achievements of our students and staff.

Below is a list of some of our district social media accounts. You can also find links to your child’s school-specific accounts at the bottom of their school’s website homepage.
