Superintendent Update - Wednesday, December 18, 2024

December 18, 2024

Good Afternoon, Warren Scholars, Families, and Staff,

We have a few important announcements for the week of December 18th.

I would like to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to our incredible Warren staff for their unbelievable commitment to our students and families. We are truly fortunate to have such amazing people in our schools. This first semester has been both busy and successful for our schools, thanks to your hard work and support.

As we approach the winter break, I want to wish everyone in the Warren community a joyful holiday season and a Happy New Year! We look forward to continuing our success together in 2025.

This past weekend, a threatening post was made on social media that included schools in Warren and Lawrence Township. I want to thank the students, parents, staff, and community members who shared this information with us. The post was deemed not credible and was identified as a similar post that was made a couple of years ago. Our administrators and our Warren Police worked closely with IMPD and Lawrence Township to identify the individual who made the post. The individual was not a Warren student and has been arrested.

We ask for everyone’s continued partnership in reinforcing these efforts by remaining vigilant, reporting concerns, and encouraging open communication. I have provided some of the resources we have available in Warren to help communicate safety concerns.

  • Contact your child’s teacher or principal through email, phone

    call

    , or in person.

  • Report of a safety concern or bullying incident can be done by calling 317-532-3049 or by completing

    this online safety form

. You will be contacted by a District staff member as soon as possible with a follow-up.

  • The

    HELPme

app is now available to all Warren students, families, and staff.

    • GET HELP

can be used to anonymously request help from Warren school contacts, including

      Messenger

which allows anonymous two-way communication between school contacts and help requesters.

    • CRISIS TEXT LINE

can be accessed directly from the app to text with non-local trained crisis counselors.

    • GET RESOURCES

      can

      be used to

search community, local, state, and federal resources and helplines.

  • Contact our Warren Police Department at 317-532-5643 or

    police@warren.k12.in.us

  • Contact 911.

Just a reminder that our last day of school for the first semester is this Friday, December 20th. Our schools will resume on Monday, January 6th. Linked here is the 2024-2025 school calendar.

Have a great rest of your week and wishing you a happy and healthy holiday break!
