Welcome back, Warriors! I hope you had a nice, relaxing spring break, full of fun activities and vacations. We have less than one quarter left in the school year, and I can’t believe it. Now is the time to lock in, study hard and finish out the year strong.
With winter weather now behind us, warmer temperatures and sunny days usher us further into spring as we grow closer to the end of the school year. Spring is the best part of the school year for me, with my golf season now in full swing, and we're beginning to wind down the year as summer approaches. I hope your springtime is just as enjoyable and full of fun activities as mine. I’m sure I’m not the only one who is looking forward to the end of the year, but at the same time this is the last quarter for us seniors, so I’m going to make the most of it, and I hope you all do too.
This issue we are continuing a yearly tradition of letting the assistant editors take the lead of the second-to-last issue in preparation for next year. Juniors Layla Calmes and Joselyn Crilo-Ramirez, our current Opinion and News/Feature Editors, took charge of this issue, which I hope you enjoy.
It seems like just yesterday that last year’s Editor-in-Chief, Caden Kerr, took a step back to let my fellow assistant editors and me take the reins of last school year’s seventh issue. And now here I am, a year later carrying on the tradition. This is an important time of the year for us here at the Owl, as we are both focused on finishing out the year but at the same time building the foundation for next year’s staff.
In this issue, we have an editorial on next school year’s new phone ban, information on our prom’s new location, inside looks at spring sports progressing throughout their seasons and more.
Once again the Owl Scavenger Hunt is back, and the ice cream coupons are returning with it. Find the five hidden ice cream cones in the issue and scan the QR code above this editor’s note to win the prize. Happy Hunting!
We only have one issue left this school year, which I’m sure will be very bittersweet for me. I can’t wait to bring you all our final issue, but for now I hope you enjoy this issue and all of our staff’s hard work. See you next time!
