As we continue through this school year, I find it hard to believe that we are already in November and we are releasing our third issue of the year. It seems like we just finished working on the first one. But the work never stops, and time keeps on moving, and with it comes this new issue of the Owl for you all to enjoy.
This quarter, more than others, will fly by fast due to E-learning days and Thanksgiving break, so make sure to stay on top of your schoolwork as we draw nearer to the end of the semester. Not only is the end of the semester coming into view, but the holiday season is also just around the corner. I hope everyone had a great Halloween and is ready for Thanksgiving, whatever holiday you may celebrate in December, and New Year's. For this year's seniors, this is our last time to celebrate holidays here at school, so I encourage you all to spend time with friends and family and enjoy it.
In this issue, we covered many different topics, including a column on the “No Kings” protests, a news story on the effects the government shutdown can have on us – including local resources for families to utilize in the meantime – and previewing upcoming winter sports as they prepare for their seasons.
Along with countless stories, we have also introduced a new concept this issue, unlike anything we’ve done before: the Owl Scavenger Hunt. We have distributed 50 special issues of the Owl randomly around the school, each containing a free PTSA ice cream coupon inside. With every issue we release from now on, you will have the opportunity to locate these issues and redeem your coupon for an ice cream of your choice.
I hope you enjoy reading this issue. My staff and I have put in a lot of work to put together a fantastic paper for you all to read. Make sure to let us know if there is anything you’d like us to cover or if you have any feedback by scanning the QR code beside this Editor’s Note. We greatly appreciate it. Spread the word about the scavenger hunt to your friends so as many people as possible can take part in this as possible. We hope everyone has fun hunting for the prizes! Enjoy your Thanksgiving break, and happy hunting, Warriors!
