TWENTY-FIRST CENTURY
SCHOLARS PROGRAM
The Twenty-First Century Scholars Program began in 1990 as Indiana's way of raising the educational aspirations of low- and moderate-income families. The program aims to ensure that all Indiana families can afford a college education for their children.
Income-eligible 6th, 7th and 8th graders who enroll in the program and fulfill a pledge of good citizenship to the state are guaranteed the cost of four years of undergraduate college tuition at any participating public college or university in Indiana. FRESH IDEAS FOR EDUCATION
Marsh is again sponsoring the "Fresh Ideas for Education" program which helps us earn FREE classroom equipment and supplies. We are pleased to announce that Creston Middle School will be participating in this program again this year. The program runs from September 1, 2011 through March 31, 2012. We need your help. Please sign your Marsh Fresh Idea or O'Malia CouponPLUS card up to help Creston...then every time you shop and use your card to get the special prices...we earn points towards FREE equipment. It is so easy...just follow the directions at www.marsh.net, Creston's school number is 36589. Ask family and friends to join too!
WIN FREE GROCERIES!
Register your Fresh Idea Card or O'Malia's CouponPLUS card by November 15, 2011!!! Then every time you shop between September 1, 2011 and March 31, 2012, you will be entered into a drawing to win one of twenty $100 Marsh gift cards. Don't worry...if you are already signed up (even if it was years ago) you still get an entry every time you shop and use your Marsh or O'Malia card.
RECYCLE YOUR PAPER PRODUCTS!
Recycle your paper products with us!! We have joined with Abitibi-Bowater to recycle paper...in July, 2011 alone...we recycled 5.29 tons of paper. Just in one month we saved:
90 trees from being cut down
36,781 gallons of water
2,449 gallons of oil
3,105 pounds of air pollution
16.18 cubic yards of landfill space
21,567 kilowat hours of electricity
We cannot accept cardboard or phone books, but welcome: newspapers, magazines, envelopes, junk mail, old school papers, greeting cards, advertisements, catalogs, paperback books, and paper sacks.
COKE POINTS
The students of Creston Middle School could really use your help collecting Coke points!! The valuable codes can be found:
- on the underside of Coke caps on 20
ounce, 1 liter, and 2 liter bottles
- on the inside of the cases on canned Coke
products
We use these points to purchase much needed supplies for classrooms and every lid counts! Please save these and have your student bring them into the Main Office. Ask family and friends to help too. You can also establish an online account and donate part of all of your points to CMS.
ALUMINUM RECYCLING
After enjoying your refreshing Coke, you can drop your aluminum cans into our BIG BLUE recycling bin located in the back parking lot. For every can recycled, you help save enough electricity to run a TV for 3 hours...while throwing that can away wastes as much energy as pouring out half of the can's volume of gasoline.
Creston Middle School is a Market Day school. Orders can be submitted at school or online (www.marketday.com). Creston's school number is 7551. All profits from the Market Day sales support PTSA activities and projects.

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION
Creston Middle School has begun collecting Box Tops to earn equipment for our school. You'd be surprised at all the different types of items that have Box Tops on them...for example: Kleenex!! Ask friends and family to help too! Each Box Top is worth .10 cents to our school. However, don't hold on to them very long...they do have expiration dates. Students are asked to turn their Box Tops into their Success teacher or put them in the donation box in the Main Office.
